Wers - Demoendo EP

Released 2020-10-09

Ah, Demoendo... An EP titled after a word I came up with after I made a spelling error trying to type out someone else's song.

This EP is the same concept as a b-sides release, as it's full of all the songs I made throughout 2020 that never got released anywhere, but it's unique in that this EP was always planned to exist. It's a bit confusing so I'll spare you the details and just say "Here's four fun techno tracks I made."

The song Demoendo, itself, was originally an attempt at copying Aphex Twin but in the end it sounded nothing like Aphex Twin. But I'm happy it ended up this way. Better to be original, I suppose.

Similarly, Grippy was an attempt at Death Grips. Once again, it sounds nothing like Death Grips.

PH4T was primarily made using my recently acquired KORG Volca FM, but I added additional sounds on top of it to flesh it out. It gets kind of insane near the end. I thought this song fit nicely as a closing track.

Kinetic is a live jam I recorded completely live, aside from me fixing 1 second of audio where I messed up. Maybe it's a bit too long but I think it has plenty of cool parts. Consider this song a bonus.

Then there's the demo mix of Demoendo. This was the first version, from a project file that I lost. So, for preservation, releasing it was the only way to make sure it stays around. It has some parts that I think are worth sharing.

That's it. That's the EP. I like these tracks and I hope you do as well. This EP's release date was when Joy In Repetition was originally going to release but I decided to push JIR forward. Instead, I put this EP here so this date wouldn't be sad.
