vuse - black noise sessions 1-3

Released 2020-09-17

In early 2020, I acquired a Korg Volca FM synthesizer from a local classified ad. I wanted to expand my sound palette and this little machine piqued my interest. I set it up by simply plugging it in to my PC to record the output. Then I just kind of fiddled around. And then that audio file sat around for a few months.

Months later I did another one of these spur of the moment recording sessions. This time I felt it went much better, as I had a stronger familiarity with the equipment.

Months later, again, I did another. For whatever reason, this one's audio quality was exceedinly terrible. Although, I felt there was some small charm to its crusty artifacting. This session also contained a 25 minute stretch of music that I felt couldn't be reasonably cut up into individual tracks. This resulted in the expansive song, "bags".

All this is to say that I fucked around with a synthesizer a few times and exported the results for you to hear.

Frankly, most of this is garbage. I wouldn't expect anyone to enjoy listening to the entire thing. But, as I said earlier, I think there's a certain charm in it. Ultimately, why I released it is to show my progression in figuring out how to properly use this thing.

Originally, these sessions were individually released under the Wers name and were for a long time removed completely, until I created a new alias specifically for them. After that I decided to combine them into one release as to not crowd the page.
